Samhain Rituals

It's time for Samhain and this  is the time of year in which we pass from light into darkness, it marks one of the two great doorways of the Celtic year, which divided the year into two seasons: the light and the dark, at Beltane on May 1st and Samhain on October 31st/November 1st. , the most magically potent time of this sabbat/festival is November Eve, the night of October 31st, known today  as Halloween. Samhain  literally means summer's end. I always carry out specialist castings on Samhain, and the picture to the left shows some of my preparations within my garden on the south coast of England. I use this one in workings to restore peace. Hence the use of the feather. It may be light hearted approach, but its symbolic and it works well!	A shady spot, ready for today's and tonight's castings. It may all look playful, but being light-hearted as well as honouring traditions brings a certain lightness to spells cast.
